Special processes under scrutiny
ALPLA Werke Alwin Lehner GmbH & Co KG

The Company

ALPLA is a global leader in the field of plastic packaging. Its core business is the design and manufacture of plastic packaging. The company has 190 plants in 46 countries worldwide and over 23,300 employees (as of 2022).

The Challenge

- A central invoicing system (FIBU)
- Incoming invoices should be transferred to the central FIBU system
Regional special case:
- No interfaces for importing or exporting raw data
- Data can only be accessed and provided at the database level
- Integration into the global incoming invoice process

The
Solution

... are automated workflows that fully integrate direct and generic writing and reading of data in SQL Server tables.

For a company like ALPLA, it is particularly important to use a system that can centrally fulfill the regionally diverse technical and organizational requirements in a uniform and well-documented manner, especially for special requirements. This role is assumed by the sermocore platform, which has been successfully embedded in ALPLA's own infrastructure since 2011. With the internal sermocore platform, ALPLA manages to implement all individual, region-specific special requirements in the same system in the same way.

For this project, fully integrated workflows are provided with the sermocore platform, enabling data to be written directly to and read from SQL Server tables. This circumvents the problem of missing interfaces. "Data" includes master data for invoice enrichment in the external system – such as debtors, payment methods, general ledger accounts, cost centers, cost units, currencies – and invoices. In this way, sermocore assumes the role of the system interface down to the database layer. Data transfer is scheduled and filtered to avoid multiple processing of the same data.

ZITAT

„Was mir an den Lösungen von sermocore so gut gefällt, ist ihre ganzheitliche Herangehensweise. Probleme werden nicht atomar betrachtet, sondern mit Weitblick auf das große Ganze. So sind sie immer vollends ins Gesamtsystem eingebettet und stellen auch Möglichkeiten für zukünftige Herausforderungen zur Verfügung.“
